Getting Started
This guide helps you log in for the first time, finish basic setup, and get comfortable with the dashboard.
Before you begin
Have these ready:
- The email address you used to sign up
- Access to that email inbox
- Your store name and address
Step 1, Log in to the portal
- Open a browser on a computer or tablet.
- Go to portal.peakpos.co.
- Enter your email and password.
If this is your first login, you might see a prompt to create a password or confirm your email.
First time password setup
If you were invited by an owner or manager:
- Open the invitation email.
- Select the link in the email.
- Create your password.
- Log in at portal.peakpos.co.
Tip: Use a password you do not reuse for other accounts.
Step 2, Confirm your business basics
After you log in, you may see a short setup checklist. Start with the basics:
- Confirm your business name (the name on receipts).
- Confirm your store address (for receipts and reports).
- Confirm the main phone number (optional but helpful).
Example:
- Store name: Downtown Liquor
- Address: 101 Main St, Suite 3
Step 3, Learn the dashboard
The dashboard is your home screen in the portal. It is where you check how the day is going.
You will usually see:
- Today’s sales total
- Number of transactions
- Top selling items
- Alerts (low stock, terminal offline, and more)
Quick habit that helps
At the start of the day:
- Check if any terminals show as offline.
- Look for low stock alerts.
- Confirm the date and time on the store devices.
At the end of the day:
- Review daily sales.
- Check for returns and voids.
- Make sure any pending batches are settled.
Step 4, Add your first staff members
Even if you are the only user right now, it is smart to add at least one backup manager account.
- Go to Staff.
- Select Invite staff.
- Enter their name and email.
- Choose a role.
- Send the invite.
Roles are explained in the Staff Management guide, but here is a simple starting point:
- Owner or Manager: you and any trusted lead
- Cashier: most front counter staff
Step 5, Take a short test drive
Do a quick practice run before a busy shift.
- Add a few test products (or confirm products are already loaded).
- Ring a small sale on a terminal.
- Print a receipt.
- Try a return.
If something feels off, fix it early. Small setup issues can feel big during rush hour.
Common questions
Can I use my phone to manage the store
You can check basics from a phone, but a computer is easier for inventory and reporting.
What if I cannot log in
