Store Setup
This guide helps you set up your store details so receipts, taxes, and reports come out right.
What you will set up
- Store name (what customers see)
- Address (used on receipts and reports)
- Operating hours (used for reporting and staff planning)
- Tax settings (so sales tax is correct)
Step 1, Set your store name
Your store name appears on receipts and some customer facing screens.
- In the portal, go to Settings.
- Open Store details.
- Enter your store name.
- Save.
Tips:
- Keep it short and clear.
- Match your sign or business license name if possible.
Example store names:
- Peak Corner Mart
- Riverside Vape and Smoke
- Eastside Liquor
Step 2, Enter your store address
Your address can show on receipts and helps with reports.
- In Store details, enter:
- Street address
- City
- State
- Zip code
- Save.
If you have multiple locations, make sure you are editing the right location.
Step 3, Set operating hours
Operating hours help keep reporting clean and make it easier for staff to know the schedule.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Hours.
- Set open and close times for each day.
- Save.
Example:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
- Friday and Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Tips:
- If you are open past midnight, double check how your daily totals should roll over.
- If you change hours for holidays, update them ahead of time.
Step 4, Review tax settings
Tax settings control how sales tax is added to items.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Taxes.
- Confirm your tax rate and tax rules.
- Save.
What to check:
- Your tax rate matches your local rate.
- Items that should be taxed are taxed.
- Items that should not be taxed are not taxed.
Example:
- Most taxable items: snacks, drinks, vape products
- Common non taxable items (varies by area): some grocery staples
If you are not sure what your local rules are, check your local guidance or ask your accountant.
Step 5, Do a receipt check
Run a quick test sale after setup.
- Ring a small sale.
- Print a receipt.
- Check:
- Store name
- Address
- Date and time
- Tax amount
Fix anything that looks wrong now. It is much easier before your store gets busy.
Good setup habits
- Keep your store details updated if you move or change your business name.
- Update hours when you change your schedule.
- Review tax settings any time rates change.
