Transactions

This guide covers the most common daily tasks:

  • Viewing daily sales
  • Processing returns
  • Finding a past sale
  • Understanding batch settlement

View daily sales

Owners and managers often check sales more than once per day.

  1. In the portal, go to Reports.
  2. Open Sales.
  3. Select a date range, like Today.

What to look at:

  • Total sales
  • Number of transactions
  • Average ticket
  • Returns and voids

Example:

  • If transactions are normal but total sales is low, check for price changes or discount mistakes.

Find a past transaction

You may need this for a customer question or a return.

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Search by:
    1. Date and time
    2. Receipt number
    3. Total amount
    4. Cashier name
  3. Open the transaction to view details.

Tip: If you only know the approximate time, start with a narrow time window.

Process a return

Returns should be handled consistently.

Before you start:

  • Confirm the item and condition
  • Check your store return policy
  • If required, confirm the customer has a receipt

Steps:

  1. On the terminal, open the original transaction, if possible.
  2. Select Return.
  3. Choose the item(s) being returned.
  4. Confirm the refund method.
  5. Finish the return.

If you cannot find the original sale, follow your store policy for no receipt returns.

Handle exchanges

An exchange is usually two steps:

  1. Return the original item
  2. Ring up the new item

This keeps inventory and reports accurate.

Understand batch settlement

Batch settlement is how card transactions are grouped and finalized.

Simple way to think about it:

  • During the day, card payments are approved.
  • At settlement, those approvals are finalized.

Good daily habit:

  1. At the end of the day, confirm the batch has settled.
  2. If it did not, follow the Troubleshooting steps.

If your store has a specific settlement time, set a reminder.

Common problems and quick checks

A customer says they were charged twice

  1. Search transactions for the amount and time.
  2. Check if one is a voided attempt.
  3. If you see a duplicate that is not voided, contact support.

A return failed

  1. Check internet on the terminal.
  2. Try again after a minute.
  3. If it still fails, note the message and contact support.
